seeding and aerating

    I am getting ready to start seeding and aerating. Do you recommend to seed then aerate or aerate then seed on top of that? I will be using Lesco seed and a Bluebird aerator.

    but a slit seeder will do a much better job, all at once.

    What type of grass? Hope you haven't applied crabgrass pre-emergent yet.

    I usually put down half the seed before aeration and the other half after because going over the property with the aerator and walking or wheels usually sqashes some of the cores and I think its good to already have some seed down when this happens.

    does anyone else do it the way ajays does it? never heard of itlike that before but it sounds like he has some good reasoning???
