I seeded my lawn with scotts sun and shade mix. I then decided to try scotts 4 step fertilizer program. My question is this - does the scotts 1st step have any thing in it that will prevent my seed from germinating. Also will the seed dry up and not germinate if we are in drought. I hate to water because I am on a well . Thanks for any help. I have learned alot from you guys.

YOUR POST PROMPTS ME TO ASK IF YOU GUYS UP NORTH CAN HAVE SUCCESSFUL LATE SPRING AND EARLY SUMMER SEEDINGS.
AROUND HERE IT WOULDNT HAVE MUCH CHANCE. MATTER OF FACT I ALWAYS ADVISE FALL SEEDING AS THATS THE BEST WAY TO GET GRASS THAT CAN GET THRU THE FIRST SUMMER.LATER

Martin. If i remember correcly the first step is fertilizer plus Halts (crabgrass preventer). Crabb grass preventers form a barrier in the soil preventing any seeds from germinating.
