Seeding Question?

    Hurry--you want the seed in the ground very soon to avoid upcoming cold weather and frost--due October 27th on Long Island. Not much happens if temps drop below 45 during the day. Unless you are in Ft Lauderdale.

    My opinion, starter fertilizer can be applied either before of after tilling--whatever works for you.

    I added seed to an area that needed to be cleaned up and built up etc. about a month ago... its been hot, dry since then, but this past week I noticed some germination... that was my cue to start the sprinklers on a daily basis now, so I'm hoping that after this heat wave is over we get some natural rain...

    The important thing about this episode is that grass seed will sit in the ground and be just fine until the time is right... :)
