A guy is asking me to price and hopefully do a seeding job in his back yard. the area is 4,800 sq/ft. there used to be a inground pool in the area with rock around it and the contractor that took to pool out left the gravel. how would you price your labor to take out the gravel along with the other duties of planting a lawn from scratch? thanks!

Do you work alone, or do you have help? In either case, how long will it take you? What are your operating costs, and how much do you need to earn per hour to make a profit? What are the costs of disposal, seed, topsoil, tilling, grading, soil sample, seed, fertilizer, fuel, equipment....etc.

along with the topsoil question, i dont have any big equipment... for 4800 sq/ft could i just use a heavy duty walk behind tiller or should i rent a Dingo or something with a cultivator and bill the customer?
