Should I use a roller after new seeding? Should I use a starter fertilizer and if so should I drop the fertilizer or the seed first?

I am in Wisconsin and I am using a bluegrass, fescue and rye blend. Do I need to roll it after seeding?
  4. I use a hand roller and find it improves seed germination. Some think that rolling adds to soil compaction and that may be. Have your lawn core aerated annually.
