I have a SenDec shop tach to assist in tuning my Walker mowers with Kohler engines. I realize that the unit is sealed and that would prevent replacing the battery. Is there any way to shut the unit off to preserve battery power when not in use? Thank you.

I have the exact model. I cut into the back to expose the battery. The battery connections are spot welded to the battery. I jacked it up getting the battery out of it.

I had emailed SenDec and I just heard from the sales rep, Mike George. He said that the battery should last ten to fifteen years based on useage.
