#1 it takes time….WAY more than a few weeks… you won't even exist in a few weeks…and you have to factor something else dude NEW YORK.

this isn't east omaha its new york… that will take even longer.

    figure a year.

Oh wow. We'll that makes me feel better. Maybe the guy was just being very overly optimistic. Not sure why he can't just tell me that instead of ignoring me. These computer geeks think everyone automatically knows this stuff.

But I am only doing search terms for a dozen rural towns in upstate ny. It's not Long Island , west Chester or anything.

Are you in NJ or NY? Just want to be sure I am looking at the right site...

Also, can you tell us city+keywords that matter to you?

After, literally, 1 second of looking, I would take a stab and say your developer ripped you off. Zero doubt whatsoever, mostly because I own that theme. It's a good theme on a great framework, however...it has had zero customization done, so it's off-the-shelf, content plugged in, and turned on. Same goes for basic SEO. "4 Seasons Lawn and Landscaping –" is not a home page title tag that's of any real value, other than the brand names, luckily, happens to have 2 keywords in it. "Stone Work" isn't either. As it stands, you were probably overcharged $1850 - $2000.

I knew that layout looked familiar.

I'll say the content itself isn't too bad. But there's 0 optimization.

Did the photos have alt tags? I'm on mobile

All of the above is just wrong. It's based on reality of the ranking landscape, not subjective broad-brushing.

Educated guess, I'd rather have to rank for his area (NY is not just NYC) than Omaha.

I just took a quick glance. The site itself looks fairly decent. The biggest thing I didn't like is the text is sort of light grey and hard to read. Otherwise not bad.

From a site optimization standpoint I would only rate it fair. To me the title and description meta tags are important. Your title tag is poor and they don't have a description tag at all. That is bad. Keyword tags are not important any more but I always put them in anyway and there are none. I don't think that is a big deal. I like the listings of the cities you service. That is a plus.

I don't agree that it takes all that much time. When I did my site with no effort on my part in two or three days I was coming out at the top of a search for any city within 50 miles of me.

It's nothing more than a wordpress theme and the guy plugged his information in

I have the exact same theme. Paid $80 for it I think. He got blantally ripped off anyway you look at it

I did notice it was a Wordpress theme and do agree he was overcharged by quite a bit.
