sharpen the gator blades?

    For those of you who do use gator blades, do you ever sharpen the mulching parts of the blades? I used to work for a guy a while back who would sharpen them with a file, but I'm not sure if its really necessary.

    We clean them with a wire wheel.

    Never yet but now you got me thinkin. for those of you that do does it help that much? I thought they were there to make it circulate more.

    It will give you additional breakdown of your waste. How much I do not know.

    I find that they wear down fast enough all by themselves with out help from a file or whatever.

    Thick, dense grass. The outside fin is always the first to wear down.
