Would you buy a set of belts for a new mower right away? I am concerned that if the belts sit in my trailer for a few years before I need them they will deteriorate. Would I be better off waiting untill I need one to help insure I get a "newer", "fresher" belt?

Do belts ever snap or do they usually just wear out gradually?

    Thanks,

I wouldnt keep them in an open trailer. If it is an enclosed trailer I would think they would be fine. As long as they are kept out of the elements they will be fine. Belts sit on shelves at dealers for years. On a new machine, you should not have to worry about belts for a couple of years. Never hurts to be prepared though.

Your belts will wear out and stretch before they ever snap. If you start snapping belts then something is way out of adjustment.
