Most Shindawia units have a hole in the holder plate(ref#18) that you will use to hold your blade with a corresponding notch or hole in the gear head. Usually you can use a small punch or allen to hold the assembly still while you unscrew the line head.

Check the Diagram in this older link its for a T260 head, I would think there should not be much difference. (Ref# 18 is the plate with the hole)

Most trimmers without 'bike' handlebars do not lend themselves to being used with a blade. Lack of leverage makes them unsafe. Some Shindaiwa trimmers do not have the 1" blade arbor on the gearcase which would make the attempt interesting. In fact Shindaiwa sells the C models configured to use both blade and trimmer heads, hence the designation "C".

Left hand threads on the trimmer head and as previous post you will find the hole for using the 4mm hex key that came in the tool kit will line up when rotated to the grease plug allowing you to keep gearshaft from rotating as you remove the line head.
