I love mine. I have the promatic head, I switched it out because of the weight.

what did you pay for it? i'M in the market for a new shindiawa. I still have a 231 I use daily from 1997. I've tried others that are lighter but they don't last as long. the only problem I had was to replace the ignition coil. $65 for the part . I just bought a echo 2100 at home cheapo just to finish the day as my husqvarna locked up the motor after only 3yrs. I just was near a home depot and had to finish. I need a REAL commercial trimmer though.

Hmm.. Maybe it wasnt' in effect in 1997, but Shindaiwa units have a limited lifetime warranty on the solid steel shaft and the ignition coil for internal failures. If this was the warranty in effect at that time, you should have only had to pay for labor and the part should have been covered.
