I think you missed the questions.

Discounts for what type of work?

Why do you feel like you need to offer discounts?

One we have used on spring postcards is New customers your 6th cut is FREE!
Works well other offer we have done is Free Fertilizer application for new yearly customers!
We only offer these on mailers going out not even sure they are necessary. I do give away gift certificates at end of mowing season to some customers good for jan and feb only landscape work. This does several things it gives you some work in questionable time of year and it keeps you there after all how far is 25. Or 50. Going to go toward trimming crepes or cutting lirope down or mulching or cleaning up downed trees from ice after lastnite.

Discounts are for Walmart And might attract the kind of customers who can't afford lawn service In the first place.

Agreed. We might do a few little "extra" things if we have some extra time but no way do we offer discounts. Couldn't imagine offering free or discounted cuts. Most of the time we just have enough time to get all the work we have done. Our weekly customer base keeps us busy with other work they need done up until there's too much snow on the ground and then we plow their driveways.
