Ok so i found a 2000 Great Dane Super Surfer 52" deck. I really like these mowers and been wanting one for a while. I am a smaller lawn business using walk behinds right now. Guy said I can have it for $200 motor has knocking noise and almost 2000 hours. Would it be worth it to get it and rebuild myself or replace motor with new? Any input helps, thanks.

Worst case you could repower with a Briggs, probably less than 700$. If you know the model # of the engine on it, you could look on jackssmallengines.com and see what parts prices would be.

For $200 I would have already bought it.

only the motor is what he says. figure cant pass it up, just wondering whats it gonna cost me to rebuild or replace. still probably cheaper then buying a used mower that runs good.

dont count on too many hours from that briggs. also put a briggs on it and your resale on mower goes out the window. just my 2 cents
