This is the type of stuff we do in the winter is buy 1 or 2 mowers like this paints them etc and flip them i would start offering him at 500 to 550 and see where he goes a good carb job it you know how to do it and then sand blast it and paints it and finally get a sulkey your looking at like 500 in materials and you could sell it for 1500 or 1600 i think if you did that.

No, it's old , slow and underpowered. You will need to put a new engine on it to keep up with the spring grass. Back in the day they were fine because that's all you had, look around and try to find something newer. You can do it even in that price range. When I first started I had something similar, a goodall, and it would be considered junk today.

I have one like it from 1992 and love it as do my clients because it leaves some very nice stripes and it's nowhere near "under powered" I ride a two wheeled sulky and the 12.5 hp pulls me just fine at 295 pounds in 3 gear...if you make an offer start at $400 and as with any mower, keep the blades sharps and belts tight and I don't think you have a problem, the red parts are most likely off of a different mower cause I can't see anyone painting that thing like that but could be wrong....
