i just bought a low hour used 52 inch scag WB last year

i dont use WB often but i noticed it didnt cut thick lawns great and was leaving stragglers

my buddy looked at it and told me to take off 2 parts under the deck

they separated the blades and had v shaped bends on them, they bolted on

    so i took them off

he also told me to run 2 standard blades and a high lift on the discharge side

i did this and cut one lawn with it so far, it seemed a lot better for cutting striping and discharge

but it has only been one lawn so it might have been a fluke

its an advantage 52 inch deck

but im thinking they had to be on there for a reason, but i bought it used and they could of been added

i tried posting pics but they kept failing to upload

It had a mulching kit on it. Never seen a mower that would mulch worth a crap unless the grass barely needed cutting and it was bone dry. You should run high lifts on it.

more than just one on the discharge side?

he said not to run all 3 on an advantage deck

and i did take a plate off the chute when i bought it

is the kit worth anything to sell you think?

I have never run a scag with that deck so he may be right. I know I run high lift blades on everything. You might be able to get a few bucks selling the mulch kit.
