Sorry to bump such an old thread, but it's the only "show me" thread on this topic I could find and since I found it helpful when hashing out ideas, I thought I'd post what I've come up with. (for now)

I designed it, ordered online, and installed it myself.
I plan on doing the side windows on the cap next. Before doing so, I wanted to be sure the color I chose was a good match for the truck color. It is. :)

I also had my logo cut and applied it to my walk behind. :D

...and why two separate logos? both have same font and same oak leaf, but why two different logos? both look good, but i would definitely say the one on the mower looks the most professional

The one on the mower IS my logo. Well, it's the original version anyway.

Unless the shape/design of your logo lends itself well to different applications, it's never a bad idea to have two versions.
I have a more "square" version as well with the lettering on two lines for use where the longer, horizontal design doesn't work well - think small front chest logo on a shirt.

    Like this...

What is on the back of the truck isn't my logo, but as you noticed, the elements of the logo can be seen in that the fonts are the same and the leaf is used.
Consistency is important in "branding" yourself. The use of a specific font, color scheme, or graphic in all of your marketing materials is what makes people "recognize" you in the crowd.

I wanted to use my logo on the back initially - huge. I also was planning on going with a "one-way see thru", full color wrap for that window, but decided that visibility out the back was more important, so I had to compromise with a more "simple" design. It's not what I had originally envisioned, but I am happy with the end result, as it looks classy on the truck, and can be read easily from a good distance.

And thanks for the compliment. As someone who worked as a graphic designer for over ten years, it had dang well better look "professional". LOL

Also, I posted the following in another thread about the "leaf"...

Alright...you guys have convinced me to letter my truck. Here is what I have come up with so far. The only problem I see is that my truck is Intense Blue Pearl. I'm not sure how the green will show up on that color. I figure the sign shop can put a white or yellow border behind all the green to make it pop.

Let me know what you think!

Does your door have trim along the belt line?

Is that rear slider shown in proportion? (I can't recall how Dodge does them)

Aside from using straight white for the text on the body panels, I think a white outline would work - I don't think I'd use yellow.

No trim on the truck at all. It's a sport so it does have some factory stickers that may have to come off. Also no rear slider which makes it easier. I think I will have to get the perforated vinyl for the back glass though as the logo will be right where I look in my rear view mirror.
