Side Discharge or Plug

When using a 21", does anyone have a preference? Plug or Side Discharge?

When I plug, the grass seems to end up on the sidewalk when I turn the mower around for the next pass. On the other hand, if I side discharge the clippings, they can end up in mulch, beds, gardens, etc.

(This is obviously for a non-bagging scenario.)

Any preference? Is either way better than another?

I'm using a Honda HRB215 with double blades and a Toro Commercial Recycler.

Plug (cover). Problem with even slightly damp grass though with running wheels over the clippings on the walk/drive way cause it smashes it so it's harder to blow off.

But for dry, the clippings on the walk is nothing. That's why someone invented a blower.

Plug, much easier to blow clippings off sidewalk than out of mulch, beds, gardens, etc.
