Is there any safe app rate for simazine and planter beds. I sprayed my own and the plants are taking a hit. If not, what is the safest or best thing to use in a flower bed as a pre-em? I sprayed at 2.9oz per 1000sq

    whats up?

2.9/1000K is definitely going to do some damage to off-label plants. 1.5 oz is a pretty stout rate for turf alone. I assume you are using 4lb/gal material. There are some gentler products out there I am sure you are aware.

Yes they were my plants, I took a recomendation from a past applicator and he told me there would not be any damage. I am getting into this business and just applied it to my own, as advised. You see, I am taking my QAL test this month and I was able to purchase the Simazine with a PAC. I have learned a lesson and I am already researching the products listed by Bill. I figure it is a safe move to use safe materials in the planters of my new customers. DUH. Which one of these chemicals gives the most bang for the buck? I have been calculating and a couple of them, they are rather expensive. Which ones last the longest for the money. I guess I'll stick to using the simazine on the bare ground as a pre-em.

Thanks for the info you guys are great!

What do you use for a good broad pre-em in ornamental beds? How long will it last?
