There was a post here the other night about wether or not someone is a professional, with many questions and points awarded. The point (as I see it) the poster was driving at is valid even if the "test" is subjective. We all need to do our best to provide a positive image of the trade and our staff. This helps all to earn a better living and build a better future. I have 2 tests. First, you are on the right track regardless of what you have if:

    1 You do quality work.
    2 You are reliable.
3 You charge fair and competitive prices.
4 You continually try to improve your work and equipment.
5 You do not attempt work you are not familiar with.

If you do these things you are not a "scrub" period. You really should have insurance too, but that's on you.

Now for some fun. Here are "The top 10 signs you are not a Green industry professional."

10 You have cut a down spout in half with hedge trimmers.

9 You have operated a walk behind or ZTR with 1 or
    more front casters missing.

8 You have ever rolled a walk behind or ZTR.

7 You have ever drawn blood with a weedeater.

6 You have ever pulled a trailer with a flat tire more than
    one day.

5 You have lettered your truck or trailer with a paint brush
and you are not a graphic artist.

4 You have ever urinated on a customers property.

3 You have ever been caught urinating on a customers
    property.

2 You have exchanged sexual favors for lawn and land
    scape services.

1 You have been arrested at a sobriety check point while
    towing a landscape trailer.

If you answer yes to more than one you might not be a professional. :) :) :)

    Pros also:

1)Report earnings and pay income tax

    2)Collect sales tax when applicable

3)Obtain required permits or licensing to conduct business in their locale

IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF YOU GUYS ARE FULL OF $HIT

What i read is really awesome but then i read things that make me sick. YOU are a professional if you

    LOVE WHAT YOU DO
TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT YOU DO
    TAKE CARE OF YOUR MACHINES
ARE RESPONISBLE FOR THINGS THAT YOU HAVE DONE.
    AND ARE CURTIOUS.

now shut the F*&^ up with wheather you are professional or not. God. some of you people.
