If I Look across a lawn I just mowed I see dozens of single grass blades sticking up.
What’s the deal? My blade is brand new. I’m mowing a residential with a 21 Honda commercial at 3 inches.

Those are called stringers try sharpening the blade doesnt matter if its new, most times they are still on the dull side even brand new.
If the grass is real lush Maybe slow the mower down some might help
Check the rpms i think honda is supossed to be 3100 or so.

My brother bought a honda hydro 21in last fall for our company and it hasnt had a problem with stringers while bagging but mulching it does .The mower baggs flawlessly but mulches quite crummy.

The problem is the 21” mower. Cutting at 3” is too high to get real good blade lift, but then again, what customer ever lays on their stomach to check blade length anyway?
