I feel like an idiot but I've tried to think of the advantages of a double sided over a single sided but can't think of a reason. Anyone know which one is better for what kind of cutting and why are they made? Gotta move up to a real trimmer and was wondering which one to get. Thanks in advance to everyone that answers.

double side here. Allows you to flow better and shape the shrub better as well

    I agree, double sided....
I have had a double sided trimmer for about 7 years now, but one time, it was not running right, the customer had a single sided trimmer and offered for me to use it. I messed with the thing for a while, and said I will be back when I get mune running right. I didn't like the way they worked, mabey I was used to the double sided one though.
