I have an 60" '03 TT with 1100 hrs on it. The mower runs great, cuts great, does everything great, I bought it used last fall and am very pleased.

I then jumped on my friends identical mower, with only 600 hrs on it, and the thing feels 10x faster than mine! Does anyone have any ideas? Do mowers slow down with time? Mine is running fine, rpm's are right, the hydro fluid is clean, everything has been maintained to a T, what gives?

Check the belt inbetween the engine and the pumps

About the only thing I can think of would be to check your hydro belt. I am assuming your tires are the same size as your friends'. Are your pumps/wheel motors noisy? You might try running them side by side to see if there really is a difference. Not sure if there is any adjustment on the pumps on those.

I will give the belt a second look....

The tires are the same size, mine are a bit more warn, but there was a huge difference, more than just tire wear issues. Does anyone have any experience with putting larger tires on a TT? I would be interested in what you got that fits.....

Are the hydro levers loose or do they have any play before engaging the hydros? You can adjust those IIRC.

I put 18x9.50x8 inch tires on my tracer. There is not enough clearance to put 20 inch tires on it.

what exact make and/or model are they? what size are the stocker'?

I put a new belt on tonight, the other one wasn't terrible but it didn't look good either. I will let you know how it does after tomorrow.

    Thanks.

The stock tires on a full size tracer are 18x8.50.8. Also, check the spring that holds the tension on your hydro belt. If it is weak it will allow the belt to slip.
