I have an outdoor grill island made of stucco that is peeling very bad. I have scraped off most of the stucco and will be using small concrete pavers to cover it. I just had a new patio built and will be incorporating the outdoor grill island in it (see photos). I am thinking about redoing the exterior of the grill island with the small charcoal pavers in the photos attached. One of the photos has an example of the pavers on the exterior of the grill island. I will be using a thinset mortar or subflooring adhesive to attach the pavers to the grill island. Please give me feedback on this idea and whether or not the pavers will stand up to the weather. If someone has done this before, please post some pictures.
