Just curious to see how many of you guys do your own small engine work or pay someone else to do it for you? (lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and so on)

I just finished rebuilding a Kaw FB460V and it runs like new. I think a lot of it depends on what season it is and how much time you have. If it was peak mowing season I would have opted for a new engine instead.

I do 100% of my own work unless it's under warranty.

If I know what is wrong, it will usually be within the first 10-15 minutes, and I will fix it. If not, take it to a local dealer here 3 min from the shop. They have a great mechanic that cares. If he likes you he will usually diagnose it right then, and let you wait to get your piece back then. If not, 2weeks sometimes.

I can only do minor stuff like changing oil or sparkplugs. Blown head gasket, etc., unfortunately I don't have a clue...

We try to do most of our work unless we don't have the time!
