Well the title pretty much says it all... For the first 20 mins or so of driving it stinks like vinegar but worse. Last time when I got in and it was hot inside and the fan was on, it took my breath away. I had to get out. What do i do?

Searched online and found it is mold in the system. Needs to be cleaned. Spraying the system and circulating with anti-bacterial crap "can work" but physical disassembling and cleaning may be needed and can be cheap or expensive depending on vehicle. I think its because some cars need the dashboards out. Any idea how silverado trucks systems are put together.

Spray some Lysol time stuff into the fan inlet with it running and changing the pattern from vents to floor to defrost. May take a couple times. Make sure you use a bacteria killing spray. I do this on all my cars once or twice a year to freshen it up.
