I have a brand new mower with a Kohler 27 command pro. It is a vertical shaft. There are 30 hours on the engine and when I climb hills it spits all kinds of white smoke. The only thing I could think of was oil getting into the cylinders. There is also a possibility that the gas that I put in the machine had a trace of diesel in it. Any Ideas?

How steep are the hills and how much over the full mark is the oil level?

If its not overfilled with oil the next stop is the dealer.
When my 1998 25 hp command did that it was bad news. Mine started at 100 hours and was the head gasket and the rings. Factory defect, ya poor design but your sounds like the same thing. Its under warranty but get it in soon.

The oil level is right on the money. It was changed just before it was brought to me. The hills really aren't that steep. This was a demo unit that I purchased last week it has 34 hours on it to be accurate. I have used it a total of 45 minutes since it was delivered on Friday night. It replaced an 98' Exmark with a 25 Kohler horizontal shaft that had no problem with my property. FYI it is an EverRide.

    Ditto what MOW ED said.
    I'd be calling the dealer.
