Are there any models of snowblower with air filters on the engine? or is there a reason that they leave them off? We've only had homeowner grade snowblowers and none of them have air filters. Are they expected to rust out before the engine goes? am I stupid to add a filter?

Don't put air filter on. The reason it doesn't have one is because the snow just plugs it up and gets wet and engine will starve foir air and won't ever run right. You will not find a snow thrower with one, well I never seen one.

Thanks, that saves me a lot of work, but I still am amazed that an engine could last a week without a air filter-I still not gonna try and save a few bucks by taking the filter off the truck in the winter though.

Why would you take your truck air filter off? I have two areiens snow throwers that are 15 years old with original motors. Its not dusty when moving snow.
