I hate to be the barer of bad news but I have heard that the new cost of the Duramax will be 10-12,000 higher than the 2010 version meaning you could be paying between 75-8000 OTD No thanks:dizzy:

Why. Is it new and revised? Screw Diesels. I regret buying my first diesel. Gas has always treated me better for the money. I look in the truck papers and see gas 2500/3500 trucks for mid to uppers $20's brand new. Get 10 years out it and sell it for $5,000 and start all over. If someone gave me quarter for every newer(2003-present)diesel I see getting towed in off the freeway I could have quit working. So many Fords dead. For you Ford lovers say all you want but I see the proof. 6.0 and 6.4 chokers dropping like flies out there day in and day out.

I guess its from all the extra emmisions and what not, I think it is just crazy 10 years? what our last sierra 1500 lasted 19 and was still ticked at 240000+ original everything

The emmissions crap and they cost more to build is the big reason a diesel pickup costs more. The new 6.7 in the Ford will be a 12,000 dollar engine option in Canadian made trucks. The 6.4 is 10,000 or so.

The reason why you don't see gas powered 3/4-1 ton trucks on dealers lots is the dealer makes more money off of them.

If I could have found a V-10 3 valve powered F-450 I would have bought one. I have had okay sucess with the 6.0 and the 6.0 isn't that hard to work on.

The new EGR systems are expensive to maintain and cost more in fuel mileage etc.

Im glad i got my Allimax in 2008. I hounded, beat and whipped the salesmen for 9 months and drove off the lot in a 3500 for $34000. Combined extra cost for the duramax & allison was $7195.
