A colleague of mine is laying 100% blue sod tomorrow in Michigan. Brand new single a ball park, opening day is 4/13/07. A little late for that kind of thing, but such is life. Any ideas on how to get it to root really well before going to bed for the winter. pH is 7.1, starter fert is ordered. He is planning on using turf blankets (see the thread I posted on that subject). Base is 90% sand, 10% peat moss. I suggested an organic fert w/micorhizae to help things along. Any ideers??

He should be fine. Just don't put the covers down too early. The mycorrhizae won't hurt but it is hard to say it will help. I just pray the sod is sand grown or washed or he is in for a long season.
