Due to the drought last year, my sod died.

I have a small area(about 500 ft) that I need to remove old sod
and also cut new sod to fit.

I have seen sod knifes that you step on to cut and then roll up old
as well as carpet knifes that people use to cut new sod into place.

What is the quickest way to remove old and cut new?

What do you recommend without renting a gas powered sod cutter?

    Thanks

Rent one, you can buy a manual, but 500 ft would probably make you go rent one halfway through. They arent that expensive to rent, and are fast and easier on the back.
