    I have a client that had sod put down last year. I want to know can you put seed down in the bald spots of the lawn..

    Yes you can. Rake, sew, fertilize. You can top dress with soil.

    What caused the bald spots? Some of the turf here can have one of the grass families in it go dormant in the winter.(there are a minimum of three grass families in most grass mixes here) It makes the turf look thin until it wakes up and grows again.

    Or, was it a dog?
