I have looked thru alot of the sodding threads but still have a question. I have a customer that wants their back yard sodded. The grade is already good, he is having sod and top soil delivered. The measurements I took today come to 2450 sq feet. The prices that I found in my search came in around 35 cents per sq foot. Should I use that same pricing if they are having it all delivered, or should I adjust it up or down? Any input would be appreciated. :)

I am not sure that I understand the question. But what I do is charge by the pallet, labor included. My cost delivered on a pallet of St augustine is $135. I charge $295 out the door price to get it delivered and thrown. If they need grading, rototilling or anything else that is a separate charge and itemized accordingly.

For Bahia my cost delivered is $75, I charge $240 delivered and thrown.

my margin is much higher on Bahia, but my profit is the same for both and I can't get much more on st augustine. The market won't pay it.

But almost everyone needs some soil prep and I get $100 per hour on that.

I love sod work. Great money.
