Whenever I mow my front yard my riding mower leaves light tire rut's on the ground. The yard is very soft so I amagine that is the problem. Is there a way to fix this? I have not watered at all this year.

Try renting a sod roller and filling it clear full with water and rolling it multiple times. Fill in divots with top soil.

How heavy of a roller would you recommend? I have an acre lot with sprinklers and I mow with a fastrak 42.

Mow in diferent directions, each time you mow. this will help eliminate the rutting.

Depending on how soft your lawn is you need to figure out why its like that. If its soft due to standing water then you need to fix that problem first. If its just soft due to a wet winter/spring and its not normal I would suggest core aerating the hell out of it, topdressing and watering.
