What is a good soil probe to buy? I seen a few on Gempler's but I'm curious to what you guys are using.

I use the Oakfield 19", Part No. RJC019 from Gemplers. Works fine for me and it has a removable tip.

Are you looking for a probe to pull out cores for soil testing or for viewing soil for wetness, etc....? If so, LESCO/John Deere has a very nice Stainless Steel unit.

Thanks...I seen the Oakfield on there and looked pretty good.

    Mainly for soil sampling.

I have grown very fond of my 36" sampler from a.m. leonard. My back is tired enough from handling all those 50 pound bags, the longer sampler allows you to pull in an upright position, albeit a little cumbersome and harder to store. It also has a larger slot, allowing you to pull more cores between dumping into the sample container.
