Geez, it's been raining here, 43 miles from the Mexican border, since early morning....what we've been hoping for to insure a wildflower bonanza in Feb. & March. The plants we're always looking for are "ephemerals", meaning annuals that only bloom when moisture is sufficient. Last wet year was in 05 when the bloom in Death Valley brought us to our knees. We heard later some of the plants blooming that year had not been recorded for 100 years! The air is scented with "creosote bush", a smell only desert rats appreciate. Will post a pic when possible.
