You can't do anything without the other two spacers, That's likely one of the causes of bearing failure. I'd be raise'n a stink with the dealer over that.
In my 30+yrs I've never seen any bearing seals sold separately...... Good luck with that.....
Removing zerks is a waste of time, I can't recall one ever being broken off...... The time spent now setting these spindles up for greasing will save more time AND money later on having to replace bearings again......
Thanks for the advice fellas. Time to make sure I've got wire wheels to fit inside the spindles, find same sized zerks and buy more grease!

What's they're purpose? In my mind all I see is something free-wheeling inside the spindle...
They keep the two (upper and lower) inner bearing races from being squeezed together when the pulley and blade is tightened, If they are squeezed it puts the bearings in a bind causing premature failure.....
Gotcha and thanks. Would a galvanized pipe of the proper dimensions serve the purpose, or does it need to be a harder material? (Bad Boy has enough of my $ as is, so I'm doing my best to not give them any more of it!)
That would work, But if you have to buy a piece I'd buy black iron instead.... I feel it's a harder pipe.....
In a pinch I've had good luck matching up the spacer/bushing for my spindles at tractor supply. If I remember correctly it was used on a 3 point hitch top link bushing or lift arm bushing.
Good to know. TSC is one of my favorite stores and I need to stop by there anyway. On the spacers... prior to installing the shaft through it, is it supposed to have some wiggle room between the bearings? The one I have does... On that note, is it safe to assume grease is needed inside the spacer / on the shaft to keep it from getting eat up if it loads to one side?
Very little, Once the spacer and bearings are installed with the shaft, The pulley and blade will sandwich everything together so everything spins together and nothing gets ate up.....
That is the reason why the OEM replacements cost $20-$25 each.
