i have a customer that has asked me to help with a local high school softball field. I have not seen the site, but I would assume somewhere ~ 2 acres of grass. He asked me if I would consider sponsoring the field and they would announce my name at the games, hang a banner, etc. (1) If I was going to list my customers in order of the most difficult to deal with to the least difficult to deal with, this guy would be #1, literally. The first year I did his lawn, his wife let their dog out while I was working, it attacked me, ripping the sleeve of my shirt off, and I got the blame. Last year, he would not let me do my last round application, my most profitable, and now he calls complaining about his spring weeds. Duh, you quit me. Now, I took him back, because I make good money. (2) He sounds like he wants me to do the work for free. At two acres, I have $700 just in product, not to mention overhead, etc. (3) If it is that rough, why would I want my name on it anyway? I guess I have already answered my own question, but, what are your thoughts? Assuming the school will actually pay me to do the work, would you take it?
