    Hello...

The past couple years we have been mulching the flower beds that surround the outside of my house and it seems that lots of little dot sized brown/black spots are appearing all over the siding and windows. They are extremely difficult to get off.

Do the spots have anything to do with the mulch, or is it just a coincidence?

If so, anything I can do to prevent this, are there better brands than others? I forget exactly the kind of mulch we put down the last couple years, we've been recommended all different types and none seem to help our problem.

    Thanks

Might be shotgun fungus, yes, it comes from mulch. Not much you can do about it, other than making sure your gutters ain't clogged up, and overflowing into your mulch beds, providing a good moist environment for the fungus.
