Spray heads 4",6"or 8" in from lawn edge.?

    Why is he worried about running over them along the edge vs out in the yard? Realistically he will run over them at some point.

    I wouldn't worry about the edger, in all my years, I haven't damaged a sprinkler head when edging. My mammoth ZTR's on the other hand, loved getting them now and then.

    With my rear tires being 12" wide, they would still get ran over being 10" out.

    I now no longer have that problem, no matter where the sprinkler heads are.

    on domed median islands the big mowers push the head along the curb toward the curb making them spray at an elevated angle...taller rotors would help.
