Hey everyone. I am planning on starting my own spray business in the spring of 2014 but I still have a few questions. This business would just be after hours of my 40 hr/week job. I don't plan on making a ton of money in my first few years. My goal is to build a solid client base with a good reputation and let word of mouth do the rest until I can do the pesticide spraying full time. I already have a landscaper that would refer me to his clients when finished with a job. (He is my former employer) and an asphalt company that I can do all their bare ground treatments. I feel like my biggest fear right now is pricing. How do some of you guys price yards? I know I have to have a base price. How should I alter my price depending on chemical price, square feet of treated area, drive time, ect..?? Please help with this as I have no idea what is fair and reasonable.

Nobody can help you determine what your costs are or what you need to cover your expenses. However, you may be able to get a lot of help on prevailing rates or what the national companies charge if you post this over in the Pesticide and Herbicide (Why are they separate??) Application forum. Just be prepared: alf of the, are going to ask if you are licensed. Good luck.

Yes I do have a licence. Haha I knew I should have stated that in the beginning.
