I need to spread about 4 yards of loam. Just curious to see what some of you are charging for the labor per yard..

    Thanks Green Bean

I use a small skid steer so its pobably a moot point for you. That amount takes about 30-45 min depending on how far it is distributed so a min charge is applied.

If I was hoofing it with a wheelbarrow, I'd charge back the hourly effort at rate...but, I'd probably add travel time and so on. I guess about $50/yd installed (it's usually $15/yd material cost) would be reasonable.

I just did a job that had 11 yards of loam. All by wheel barrow and shovels. I just charged for the hours that I was on the job. THis is a great question though.

I have a rate for crushed stone and mulch but not for loam. I am also interested in a general per yard price.
