I would be raking out the gardens, cutting down any perennials or shrubs that didnt get cut down last fall, picking up leaves and sticks/branches and garbage. I would go for the $30/hour rate as long as I'm solo. I hope I'm not too far off the going rate for one man operation.
I'd try to sell a dethatch treatment and a 4 app fertilizer program this year.

I always tell the customer, tell me what you want in a clean up as everyone is always different. Some just want leaves blown out and other want trimming and new mulch.

Go the extra mile and do everything? Hopefully getting paid and not working for free!! I find out their expectations at time of estimate as far as a clean up.

This is my first season and I just got my first potential customer. It is in a very up scale neighbor hood big houses with a lot of mulch beds and hedges and shrubs. I was contacted by this person I haven't looked at the job yet but I know the area and I know thers a lot of work due to the size of the property. I'm actually a little intimated lol I'm a solo guy might be able to get some help from a family member. This customer wants shrubs touched up, mulch beds cleand up yard cleaned up of debris lawn dethatched lawn isnt to big most of the area is mulch beds and mulch installed probually at least 15 yards of mulch probually more. I have to look at the job to see if it's something I can handle solo and possibly with any other person but not sure what I would charge yet it's my first potential customer so again I'm a little nervous so any advise would be great

    Thanks Brian

For us, Spring cleanup entails blowing out all beds into lawn, tine raking lawn (as long as the long is healthy) bagging everything. I guess this could also be considered the first cut as we mow at about 2.5"

85% are this, some don't get the power raking, some dont get the leaf removal, some want to cut back perennials. These change the prices. We start at $195

$30 an hour? Your time is worth more than that.
