With the season around the corner, I am getting ready to start getting the mowers ready. What do you guys do to as a spring checkout before you start running your machines? Anything other than what is in the manuals?

We always just do whats in the manual. This year we did paint the underside of our mower decks because our mowers are 5+ years old. Maybe the grass wont stick under there as bad now.

Travis, that is a good idea I think. We have the same problem with our older Viking. Never thought of that, I used a lite coat of silicone last year and did not help, we had real issues with clogging. The Exmark rep. said to lower the blades as low as they will go and that would do the trick, well we'll see. :waving:

Change oil, Hydro fluid, check belts and air filter, and let her roll

    I addition to above...

grease all fittings & adjust anything that needs adjusting (throttle cable, tracking, etc.).

Main thing for me...take it on a few test rides before getting to a site and finding out something has happened...
