Do you guys ever offer discounts for tire kickers to sign them out early in the season? For example maybe $200 off a new patio installation?

Any good results with something like this? What kind of sales did you offer?

I offer discounts for work performed in the winter. Spring is peak season. The market demand is at it's strongest. NO discounts in peak season. Hotels jack prices sky high during peak vacation season. Follow their lead.

Just signed another project for upcoming season, no discount. I hate to admit to agreeing with dvs but he's right, this is the time of year to make your money, typically mid season can be slow and end of season. Last year we agreed to removing 13% tax off our last months work. It still made me money and kept my guys busy all november.

I'm with DVS too. Whenever I offer a "sale" I offer 10% off up to $500. That's pretty standard around here. Those are usually postcards that are mailed or distributed through a home and garden show. Since I have a good idea who has them I just jack their price up 10%. Funny story: I had a guy want me to up it to 15% to match a competitor. I had this honest conversation with him and admitted that is what what he do. At the end of it he still wanted the extra discount. I said screw it, did his revisions, added 15% to the overall total, gave him the 15% and kept my initial extra 10%. It sounds confusing, but I pocketed a grand and he smiled from ear to ear.
