Anyone have an ingenious method of spring loading a split gate on the back of a box truck?

the gates are 2 feet wide (each) and unfold, totaling about 10 feet total length when unfolded, and we usually slide one of them toward the middle so they are closer together to get a wb in and out.

any one have an idea to have spring assist or some other method to make them come down gentler (they weigh a ton) and make it easier to fold them back up?

Pics would be great lol thanks!!

I used a garage door torsion spring under my trailer to lift my gate which weighs over 300#. I saw this same setup in a closed in trailer and it worked great.
