i have a srm 230 less then a year old (got it on 1/19/06 -my trimmer took a crap and i had 5 more jobs to do and hd was closer then an echo dealer was.) and the dang thing wont go past 14/th throttle before it dies. it runs at idle but the moment i give it ant throttle it shuts down.
it has a pe-200 carb on it since some moron stole the one it came with.

first thing i did when i got it was take out the screen. and i just took off the muffler and no clogs

any idea whats wrong i did the repower kit on it also.(Repower kit. air filter gas filter and plug tune up kit.)

    any idea whats wrong.

Check for air leak in the system, fuel line may have pinhole or crack also spray around the intake block with carb spray see if unit changes rpms while running. Since someone has put a different carb it may be loose and sucking to much air between the carb and insulator, making a lean run issue.
