Ok.....I've got a rip out and re-install to do. Terribly done the first time. There is a pool with a concrete deck and a retaining wall to hold the decking up flat. The idiots that installed the stairs to get to the deck did not incorporate them (they are free standing so there is a noticeable transition between the back of the stairs and the wall) into the wall so they look like crap. Top it off, they aren't even straight. My questions is: After I've got them removed, how can I get them to mesh up with the existing wall without having such a noticeable gap. The wall is solid and the stairs need to be built/attached somehow.

My only other thought was to rip out part of the wall and try to incorporate them........

Are the steps wooden, block, or stone?

    Some ugly red block. I think it's 6" x 16".
