What legal measures do you have to go through to officially start a landscaping business as your primary job? To be honest, taxes and everything confuse me. I currently work for someone else, and only do a little of my own stuff on the side. I'm hoping to someday soon start my own business.

Depends on were you live and the states requirement's
Her in Florida you have to have a contractors license to perform commercial and residential landscaping.

You'll want to call the county government center where you'll be based out of, they can get you started.

When you register your business, you'll be inundated with letters for "free consultations" from accountants, not a bad idea to hire one to help with taxes.

You'll at least need liability insurance for your company, and coverage for your equipment.

Like mentioned, requirements vary from state to state, you just have to check for yourself to find out what's necessary.
