Up sell your present lawn mowing accounts with one stop shopping. You will be surprised how appealing this is to the customer. You can work it both ways to pick up a lot of mowing accounts also.

$4 to $5 per 1,000 sq. ft. yards up to 12,000 sq ft.

Call Tru-green (big company) and a smaller company to give you an estimate of your lawn and that will give you a ball park figure what you can charge and pick up customers.

You will need to send a letter to all your mowing customers or talk to them in person that you offer this service. Give them a free estimate. Do this around September since other companies will be trying to lock up existing customers with prepay contracts for the next year. Companies usually offer 5 - 10% off for prepay.

Start off with a backpack for spot weed spraying for weeds but if you use a backpack pick up yards that don't have many weeds. This way you can save from buying a big spray rig that cost lots of money that would be needed for spraying if you have a heavy weeded yard.

    You can use granular fertilizer.
