In Iowa, the gas stations are phasing out 87 octane unleaded. They are replacing it with 84 octane with ethanol to get the 87 octane rating. My problem is that a lot of my equipment isn't suited to ethanol. How do I handle a situation where the fuel I need will not be available at all anymore? If I could I would buy all new fuel injected mowers but right now that isn't going to happen right now. Is there anything I can do to reduce the effects of the ethanol on my carbureted mowers?

See if it is possible to Co-Op with other people in the business to buy direct from another supplier. There must be other folks in the business in the same boat?

Must just be a difference in labeling.

87 octane gas with ethanol is something like 83 or 84 octane when you pull the ethanol out. Nothing is changing but the sign.
